Plan A VisitWhat Skeptics & Atheists Say
Skeptics and atheists can easily believe the end of the world is possible and potentially near. However, they may not believe in any sort of higher power with a plan.
One group of scientists developed the Doomsday Clock in 1945 as an indicator of the world’s ever-increasing vulnerability to “catastrophe from nuclear weapons, climate change, and disruptive technologies.” The clock slowly ticks toward midnight, meant to represent the “apocalypse” or potential nuclear war. Each year a team determines if the world’s vulnerability has increased. As of January, 2020, this team has reported that the clock sits at 100 seconds to midnight, and according to them, the world is ever inching toward potential doom.
Environmental scientists have spent years declaring the dangers of ignoring earth health. Many believe we will soon hit a “point of no return”, where the negative impact of pollution will lead to rising oceans and climate change.
Atheists and skeptics may or may not believe the end of the world is near. But, it’s easy for many to see how humans continually increase our chances for disaster.

Watch OnlineWhat The Bible Says
Followers of Jesus today can acknowledge and agree with many of the observations of skeptics and atheists. However, Christians do believe God is in charge of all things and has a plan for the end of the world.
Understanding and explaining how the Bible describes the end of the world is difficult. Theologians often interpret Biblical passages pertaining to the end of the world differently. There are three things followers of Jesus can agree on.
1. The world will end
Jesus spoke about the end of the world. He explained how the earth will one day pass away. He also shared that there will be an increase in earthquakes, famines, wars and pandemics before the end. But, in the book of Revelation, the apostle John shared how God will then create a new heaven and new earth.
2. How it all will happen is a mystery
Jesus was very clear that no one knows when the end will come. He explained that he would one day return at a time that no one expects, like a thief in the night. Followers of Jesus are therefore encouraged to “be ready”.
3. Jesus promises help to face every challenge of life
Believers were never promised to have less troubles than other people. However, Jesus does promise to help those who ask through any and every trouble of life. Nothing you will ever face in your life can surprise God, not even the end of the world.
What if the God of the universe really does have a plan for your life? It’s impossible to know whether or not we’re living in the End Times. However, we have an opportunity to follow and trust in the God who does know the end from the beginning. God promises to be present and help you - no matter what happens in life.
What would happen if you embraced the possibility that the God of the Bible really did create the world and really does care for you?

Meet PeoplePascal's Wager
In the seventeenth century, a famous philosopher and mathematician, Blaise Pascal, encouraged people to make a wager when it came to belief in God. If a person chose to believe in God and God did exist, that person would gain everything (eternal life). If a person chose to believe in God and God did not exist, that person would lose nothing. On the other hand, if a person chose not to believe in God and he was right, he would lose nothing. But if that person did not believe in God and he was wrong- he would lose everything (lose eternal life).
This wager can be said another way:
Based on this logic, Pascal suggested the rational person would choose to believe in God as believing offers a person everything (eternal life) while losing nothing. Wherever you are in your faith journey, would you consider taking Pascal’s wager? If the good God of the Bible exists, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain by believing in Him today.
